A picture that changed the world

This is one of my favorite photograph, a picture that changed the world. this is in 1987, Zbigniew religa after a 23 hour heart translplant surgery, watching his patient’s vital  signs , in the lower right corner, you can see one of his colleagues who helped him with the surgery fallen asleep.

Dr. religa was  a pioneer of heart translplantation in Poland, and eventhough the surgery was considered borderline impossible at the ime, he took the chance and the operation was entirely successful. today, even though dr. Religa’s heart has stopped beating, of of his patient heart is still beating!
